ABOUT
Pihc Photography
My name is Alwin Heijmans. I was born in September 1967. I live in Hoogerheide, a small town located in the south-western part of the Netherlands near the Belgium border. Apart from being a freelance photographer, I’m also an aerospace engineer, specialized in aircraft structural design.
The word “Pihc” in my company name is derived from my nickname “Chip”, spelled backwards. My logo is inspired by a photograph that I took of the human eye.
My photography started back in 2002 when I bought my first film SLR, the Nikon F80. Through scanning of negatives and slides, the first steps into the digital age were made, allowing me to gain experience in post-processing of digital images. The switch to digital photography was made in 2005 when I bought my first digital SLR, the Nikon D2x. For an overview of my current equipment, have a look at the gear section.
I’m interested in all sorts of photography and different subjects as shown in my gallery. But my favorite subjects are landscapes and architecture, especially in low-light conditions. I also like images with bold compositions, defined by abstract shapes, lines or colors. My archive section shows most of my work from 2003 up till now.
Pihc Photography was registered as a Dutch company in October 2009, providing a variety of photo services on request. At the same time, my membership to Nikon Professional Services (NPS) in the Netherlands was granted.
The company was de-registered in 2019 after many years of being inactive as a photographer.
I’d like to thank you for visiting my website and I hope you enjoy my photos as much as I enjoyed taking them. If you have any question or remarks about me or my photography, please send me an e-mail using the contact form.
